Disinfecting Protocols
A Disinfection checklist will be utilized to track disinfection procedures after each patient
After every patient visit:
- Treatment rooms will have a 15 minute ‘rest’ period where the room is disinfected with a high powered UV-C light before the next patient enters the room.
Source Control Procedures:
- Instruct patients that anyone presenting with symptoms will be referred immediately to their primary care provider or the Coconino County COVID-19 Information line at 928-679-7300
- Instruct patients to stay home if experiencing symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath)
- Notify patients that persons accompanying them must wait in their vehicle or practice social distancing outside the clinic. Only medically necessary caretakers will be allowed to accompany patients.
- Entry to the clinic is restricted to appointments only
- Late cancellation fees waived if cancelled due to development of COVID-19 symptoms
- Supplement and retail product pick-up will be arranged as curb-side pick up
- Patients will wait in their vehicles or outside the clinic until the time of appointment.
- All intake forms, consent forms, and payments will be completed online prior to the appointment whenever possible.
Entrance Screening Procedures:
- Symptom screening for COVID-19 will be conducted the day before the appointment and at the time of entry to the clinic. Patients will be screened for the following symptoms:
- New Cough
- New Shortness of Breath
- Fever
- Chills, or repeated shaking with chills
- Sore throat
- Loss of taste or smell
- New nasal congestion
- New muscle aches not caused by an activity
- Due to updated CDC guidelines regarding low community transmission, patients are no longer required to wear face masks during the procedure. Face masking is still highly encouraged and our acupuncturist will remain in a face mask.
- Acupuncture providers will wear a surgical mask or KN95 at all times.
- Proper donning and doffing of the face mask will be observed with appropriate hand washing
- Gloves will be worn during examination and treatment of patient.
- Acupuncture providers will wear a clean set of scrubs or other designated clinic clothing that can withstand high heat laundering.
Disinfecting Protocols
A Disinfection checklist will be utilized to track disinfection procedures after each patient
After every patient visit:
- Clean and disinfect treatment table, countertop, vinyl pillow coverings, chairs/stools, door handles, sink, faucets, light switches, coat hooks.
- Allow surfaces to disinfect for appropriate contact time indicated on the produce label (Current Disinfectant Benefect = 10 minutes contact time, UV-C radiation = 10 minute contact time)
- All Bathroom surfaces disinfected after each use
- Clinic and Treatment windows opened during 30 minute room ‘rest’ period to increase air flow when possible.
- All rooms will be treated with high power UV-C light to maximize room sterilization.
